AWP / NOW: Environmental Harm as an International Crime brings together documentary photographers, climate advocates, and international justice practitioners to explore when serious environmental harm can become a matter of criminal accountability—and what recognizing ecocide could add. Beginning with the work of AWP Emerging Lens Fellows Oyewole Lawal and Edwin Ndeke, the conversation moves from witness to law, responsibility, and action.

The Here Now Project brings firsthand footage of climate extremes to the screen, then turns from witness to responsibility: How do we tell these stories ethically, confront the systems driving environmental harm, and turn urgency into meaningful local action in The Hague?

Join Art Works Projects at Texas A&M University at the Texas Symposium on Women, Peace, and Security for an excerpt film screening of The Sharp Edge of Peace (MIRA Studios/Roya Film House; directed by Roya Sadat and produced by Leslie Thomas), the exhibition Women Between Peace and War: Afghanistan, and a post-screening conversation on Afghan women’s rights, gender justice, peacebuilding, and international accountability.

Meet Emerging Lens Fellow Oyewole Lawal in Paris as his documentary photography is honored in the 2026 ZEKE Awards exhibition, Résilience, at Galerie Joseph. Lawal will be at the opening reception on November 13, where visitors can meet him and discuss his work.
