Photojournalism as Advocacy with Leslie Thomas

Want to develop your voice as a photojournalist? Want to enhance your photographic skills? Join us on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, 5:00 CEST at The VII Foundation’s campus for an intense small-group workshop led by Leslie Thomas, documentary filmmaker, curator, and human rights activist.

After a presentation on how photojournalism can help shape policy on social justice issues, Leslie will help you design a unique impact and advocacy campaign on issues that matter to you. 

Workshop Requirements

 To be considered, please submit: 

  • A brief (no more than one-page) essay outlining: 

    • Issues you address

    • Your key stakeholders

    • Your work that’s made an impact (including challenges you face)  

Additionally, provide 5-10 images of the issue you photographed and/or up to five minutes of video footage (unedited and rough is absolutely fine). RSVP Here
