Marcus Bleasdale

Marcus Bleasdale is a British photojournalist based in Oslo who has worked for Human Rights Watch documenting human rights issues and is a contributing photographer for National Geographic Magazine. Bleasdale has covered conflicts in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Uganda, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Somalia, Chad and Darfur, Kashmir and Georgia. Bleasdale has written three books: One Hundred Years of Darkness (2002), The Rape of a Nation (2009) and The Unravelling (2015). He has also been awarded the UNICEF Photo of the Year in 2004, an Emmy nomination in 2012, the Robert Capa Gold Medal from the Overseas Press Club in 2014, and many others.
