SUMMARY:Virtual Film Screening: The Prosecutors
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a virtual screening of The Prosecutors at Hogan Lovells\n\n\n\n“Rape and pillage” are concepts as old as war itself. Certainly\, war carries with it the idea of gathering the spoils found by those who stand victorious on the battlefield. But sexual violence is a war crime\, not collateral damage\, and it must be confronted. However\, the risks and sacrifices involved in ensuring that the legal system provides justice for everyone run deep. \nThe Prosecutors is a feature length documentary that tells the story of three dedicated lawyers who fight to ensure that rape in war is not met with impunity. Filmed over five years on three continents\, it takes viewers from the Democratic Republic of Congo to Bosnia and Herzegovina to Colombia on the long journey to justice. We will be joined by the Director\, Leslie Thomas\, at this special webinar screening. \nHogan Lovells is honoured to be able to screen this film\, as it shines a light on the important work carried out by lawyers around the world who are fighting against impunity of perpetrators. It also links to their own work in this area. \nWe are excited to be joined by a fantastic rostor of guests who will speak on the issue following our screening: \n\nLeslie Thomas (Director/Producer\, The Prosecutors)\nChristina Lamb (Chief Foreign Correspondent\, The Sunday Times)\nYasmin Waljee OBE (International Pro Bono Director\, Hogan Lovells)\n\nFor more information please see https://ehoganlovells.com/rv/ff00600f710a8af725dc2ea38b4e8c385f48d06a
